Video Review – The Nursery – This Wild Heart

Back on August 7 of this year, I had the pleasure of reviewing an EP by The Nursery to which you can find that article here.   One of the songs on the EP is called “This Wild Heart” to which the band have just released a new video for up on the bands’ YOUTUBE channel.

The video begins in a red coloured rocky place (reminds me of Mars for some reason or the beaches on some parts of PEI) where a pretty woman is gracefully standing with a silk multicoloured shift (dress where I come from) on and begins to dance as the music starts.  The first line of this song is “Beyond the Valley of the Dolls…” which totally matches the rocky background the woman is dancing on.  Alex Pulec’s voice is wispy and enticing with this song, and again, it matches the feel of the woman dancing and the rocky background.

The band is seen performing the song in between flashes of the dancing woman in the multicoloured shift of blue, gold, red and green.  It’s good to see the band perform in black and white which contrasts to the colour film of the woman dancing.  I like the visual appeal of the video (as well as the song) and I feel it’s a tribute to artistry in all forms:  music, dancing, colour, texture, black and white, men in band, woman dancing, etc.  I love the end where a man in a black suit/white shirt with a white cloth bag on his head claps for the woman dancing who gracefully bows.  A very well done video!
